Soybean futures bounce on firm global cue

Soybean prices rebounded by Rs 22 to Rs 2,812 per quintal in futures trading today after speculators created fresh positions, driven by a firming trend in the global market.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange platform, soybean for delivery in far-month July contracts improved by Rs 22 or 0.79 per cent to Rs 2,812 per quintal, having an open interest of 56,330 lots.

Soybean for most-active, delivery this month also recovered part of lost ground by trading higher by Rs 16 or 0.59 per cent to Rs 2,747 per quintal, open interest stood at 1,22,600 lots.

Market players said fresh positions built up by participants, triggered by strong global cues, mainly led to recovery in soybean prices in futures trade here.
