Soybean futures decline as traders trim position

Soybean prices were down by Rs 51 to Rs 3,949 per quintal in futures trading today as traders indulged in trimming their positions, tracking a weak trend overseas.

Marketmen said offloading of positions by participants,triggered by a weak trend in global market, mainly dragged down soyabean prices at futures trade here.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, soybean delivery for June month contracts dropped by Rs 51, or 1.27 per cent to Rs 3,949 per quintal, with an open interest of 89,120 lots.

On similar lines, soybean for delivery in July month lost Rs 50, or 1.23 per cent to Rs 4,008 per quintal and open interest stood of 41,760 lots.
