Press Trust of India New Delhi
Soybean prices fell Rs 42 to Rs 2,912 per quintal in futures market today after participants cut down their bets amid a weak trend overseas.

Weakness in other edible oils in domestic markets too weighed on prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean for delivery in February month dropped by Rs 42, or 1.42 per cent to Rs 2,912 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 7,820 lots.

Soybean for delivery in March month delivery dipped by Rs 32 or 1.07 per cent to Rs 2,970 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,01,020 lots.

Marketmen said the fall in soybean prices at futures trade was mostly due to to offloading of positions in line with a weak trend overseas.
