Soybean futures down on weak global cues

Soybean prices declined by Rs 23 to Rs 3,450 per quintal in futures trading today as traders reduced their exposure amid a weak trend overseas.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, soybean for delivery in October month was trading lower by Rs 23, or 0.66 per cent to Rs 3,450 per quintal, showing an open interest of 59,810 lots.

Likewise, soybean for delivery in November month contracts fell by Rs 20, or 0.58 per cent to Rs 3,446 per quintal and business turnover of 56,370 open lots.

Marketmen said attributed fall in soybean prices at futures trade to offloading of positions, tracking a weak trend oveseas.
