Soybean prices further fell by Rs 37 to Rs 3,179 per quintal as speculators indulged in minimising holdings, tracking lower overseas market sentiments.

Marketmen said continued shrinking of bets by participants in tandem with a weak trend overseas on mounting stockpiles, mainly kept pressure on soybean futures here.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean for delivery in November dipped Rs 37, or 1.15 per cent, to Rs 3,179 per quintal, having an open interest of 26,930 lots.

The October delivery also slackened by Rs 32, or 1.01 per cent, to Rs 3,147 per quintal, revealing an open interest of 49,530 lots.
