Soybean futures fall as traders trim position

Soybean prices drifted lower by Rs 19 to Rs 3,069 per quintal in futures trading today following offloading of positions, triggered by weak overseas cues.

Marketmen attributed fall in soybean prices at futures trade to trimming of positions by participants, tracking a weak trend in the global market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean for delivery this month shed Rs 19 or 0.62 per cent to Rs 3,069 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,33,820 lots.

Also, soybean for delivery in January, was trading lower by Rs 15 or 0.48 per cent to Rs 3,131 per quintal, having an open interest of 58,690 lots.
