Soyabean prices were down by Rs 59 to Rs 3,713 per quintal in futures trading today as participants indulged in offloading their positions, taking weak cues from global market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soyabean for delivery in current month dropped by Rs 59, or 1.56 per cent, to Rs 3,713 per quintal, having an open interest of 35,280 lots.
On similar lines, soybean for delivery in far-month October slipped by Rs 46, or 1.19 per cent, to Rs 3,828 per quintal, in an open interest of 34,410 lots.
According to marketmen, liquidating of exposure by traders, tracking weak trend overseas, mainly led to the fall in prices.
