Soybean futures remain higher on global cues

Soybean prices rose by another Rs 12 to Rs 3,132 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators engaged in raising their bets in sync with firm overseas sentiment.

Market players attributed persistent rise in soybean prices at futures trade to upbeat overseas markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, soybean to be delivered in far-month October contracts moved up by Rs 12 or 0.38 per cent to Rs 3,132 per quintal, having an open interest of 44,900 lots.

The delivery this month also edged up by Rs 11 or 0.37 per cent to Rs 2,987 per quintal, depicting an open interest of 38,630 lots.
