Soybean oil rises on retailers demand

Soybean oil prices firmed up by Rs 50 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on pick up in demand from retailers.

Castor oil in the non-edible section, also showed some strength on the back of increased offtake by consuming industries.

Traders said pick up in demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly attributed the rise in soybean oil prices.

In the national capital, soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils were up by Rs 50 each to Rs 6,550 and Rs 6,250 per quintal, respectively.

Among non-edible, castor oil traded higher by Rs 100 to Rs 9,550-9,650 per quintal.
 

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 850-1,065.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 9,200, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,725-1,825, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 8,750, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,400-1,450, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,450-1,550, Sesame Mill delivery Rs 7,000, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,550, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,250, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,100, Cotton seed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 5,800, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,300, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,250 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 1,900-1,950.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 9,100, Castor Rs 9,550-9,650, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
