Soybean prices eased by 0.26 per cent to Rs 3,465 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators cut their bets, taking negative cues from spot market on low demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean delivery for delivery in June declined by Rs 9, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 3,465 per quintal with an open interest of 32,570 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in July was trading lower by Rs 5, or 0.14 per cent to Rs 3,504 per quintal in 1,14,680 lots.

Analysts attributed the weakness in soybean futures to off-loading of positions by traders due to muted demand from consuming industries in the physical market.
