SP candidate Nishad elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha

Former Uttar Pradesh minister and ruling Samajwadi Party candidate Vishambhar Prasad Nishad was today declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha.

Nishad was the lone candidate who had filed his nomination papers for by-election to the Rajya Sabha seat which fell vacant following the resignation of S P Singh Baghel.

He was declared elected unopposed after the expiry of the last date for name withdrawal today by Principal Secretary to the Vidhan Sabha, Pradeep Dubey.
