Local lawyers today surrounded the SSP of Kavinagar police station demanding the arrest of all six accused in the murder of Samajwadi Party leader Yashvir Singh.
SSP Prashant Kumar said that the main accused in the murder of Singh, who was an advocate by profession and a prominent SP leader of the city, is evading arrest.
According to the SSP, the main accused Namjad Mitthan has surrendered in Bulandshar police station in another criminal case to evade arrest in Singh's murder case.
Around six persons were detained yesterday for interrogation in connection with the murder Yashvir Singh, who was gunned down by around a dozen miscreants at his home in Bamhetta village of the district on Monday.
