The son of a local SP leader and another person were today arrested for allegedly assaulting and injuring a police constable in TP Nagar area here.
SP (City) Om Prakash said Constable Sarvesh Yadav last night stopped the car of Nitin Rahul, son of SP leader Sangeeta Rahul, at a check post for routine checking.
Nitin and his fried Vikas Gupta indulged in an argument with the constable and manhandled him, following which they were brought to TP Nagar police station.
Soon after, Sangeeta along with her party workers reached the police station and assaulted Yadav, the SP said, adding about a dozen people were booked in this connection.
Nitin and Gupta were today arrested and produced before a court. Efforts are on to nab other accused, he said.
