At a condolence meeting attended by party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, party leaders said that Tiwari's death was a great loss.
Mulayam said that Tiwari was product of Samajwadi movement and was a great leader, who started his political career with student politics.
Party state president and CM Akhilesh also paid tributes to the leader.
The party flag was hoisted at half-mast to mourn his death at party office at Vikramaditya Marg here.
In another meeting, organised by Akhil Bhartiya Brahmin Mahasabha, its state in-charge Vandana Chaturvedi held a condolence meeting with all office bearers and paid tribute to Tiwari. PTI ABN PG
