"The party will soon announce names of 60 contestants for the Parliamentary elections," SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav told reporters here.
The Samajwadi Party was ready for the coming battle, he said.
On BJP president Nitin Gadkari, Yadav said since an inquiry was on into alleged financial irregularities, it was not proper to demand his resignation.
Participating in a function here, Yadav advised party workers to exhibit discipline and proper behaviour in public.
"Indisciplne in the party will not be tolerated. Action will be taken against supporters of Moradabad MLA who opened fire recently and they will be suitably punished," he said.
There had been no instructions from the leadership for pasting stickers, carrying slogans Mission 2014, on vehicles of party workers and leaders, Yadav said.
It was because of "rampant corruption" during the BSP rule that it did not return to power, the SP leader said and warned his partymen against it.
