Jharkhand Assembly Speaker C P Singh today appeared before a local court in connection with a case of violation of model code of conduct.
The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate read out the chargesheet filed against him last month and extended his bail period.
Singh is facing charges of violation of model code of conduct during Hatia assembly bypoll last year.
On the direction of election commission, police had filed an FIR with the Sukhdev Nagar police station on May 24 last year.
