Speaker meets NIC team, seeks computerisation of proceedings

In a first step to computerise proceedings of Uttar Pradesh Assembly and make question hour online, the Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey today met a delegation of National Informatics Centre and sought suggestions from them for the purpose.

During the meeting, the Speaker asked the NIC officials, who have done computerisation of the proceedings in Rajya Sabha and Rajasthan Assembly, to give their proposals in this regard so that it could be discussed with government before taking any decision.

The discussion with the NIC officials included digitisation of assembly proceedings since 1952 and making question hour live on the website.

Pandey was also briefed about how process of asking questions in assembly be made online. With the computerisation, legislators could ask their questions online and the answer would be uploaded on the site after it was put up in the Assembly.
 

Those who were present in the meeting included senior technical director of NIC Surendra Singh among others.
