The Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Lokeshwar Singh has summoned an emergency sitting of the eleventh session (part III) of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 28 and 31 in the Assembly hall of Manipur Legislative Assembly.
The emergency sitting has been summoned to introduce and to pass "the Protection of Manipur People Bill, 2015 and two other amendment bills, said R K Bhagat Singh, Liason officer (Press/Media), Manipur Legislative Assembly.
The Liason officer said that on the first day of emergency sitting of the state Assembly three government bills namely 1) The protection of Manipur people Bill, 20115, 2) The Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms (seventh Amendment) Bill, 2015 and 3) The Manipur Shops and Establishments (second Amendment) Bill, 2015 would be introduced on the floor of the State Assembly.

There would be no sitting on August 29 and 30 next but the session would be resumed on Monday, August 31 for consideration and passing of state government Bills introduced on August 28 in Manipur Legislative Assembly the Liason officer said adding that the programme of the emergency sitting was finalised by the Business Advisory Committee chaired by the Speaker today.
It might be recalled that the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) spearheading the two months long agitation agreed to introduce the three bills by the government of Manipur to protect the indigenous people of Manipur, sources said.
