Special control room set up in Noida to nab escaped criminal

Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh police have set-up a special control room in Noida to nab the criminal, Amit alias Bhura, who managed to escape from custody in Bhagpat district, police said today.

A high-level meeting was held among officials of the two states in Lucknow today to discuss strategies to nab the criminal who fled from custody and looted two AK-47 rifles from the police force in Baghpat district in UP.

Bhura is wanted in over 50 cases of theft, loot, dacoity and murder spanning Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi among other states.

The police officers from UP, Uttarakhand and Delhi will analyse the progress of the operation and decide on the course of action every 24 hours in the control room.
 

The senior officials from Uttarakhand will also camp and monitor the situation till he is again in custody.

Amit alias Bhura, who was lodged in Dehradun jail, drugged the accompanying policemen and escaped in an auto with the help of his aides while being taken to the court and also looted two AK-47 rifles and a SLR (self-loading rifle) of the cops.

Uttar Pradesh government has also announced a cash reward of Rs five lakh to anyone giving information about the criminal.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat had expressed his discontent over Bhura's escape from the state's police custody and has directed the police officials to nab him at the earliest.
