Special counters to be set up in Patna to receive IT Returns

The Income Tax Department has decided to make special arrangements for receiving income tax returns in the state capital in order to to deal with an expected heavy rush of non-corporate assessees not having audited accounts during the last week of this month, an official release said today.

All income tax returns from non-corporate assessees not having audited accounts will be received at special counters being set up at Agrasen Bhawan, Shakti Dham, Bank Road, Patna (West of Gandhi Maidan) on all working days from August 28 to 31, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said in a release.

The counters will be functional from 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM, it said.
 

Special counters are also being set up for senior citizens, handicapped, ladies and PAN enquiry, the release said.

The existing return receipt counters at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Bhawan shall remain closed during the aforesaid period, it added.

The deadline for filing income-tax returns by the invidividual assessees ends on August 31.
