Delhi Government has announced that children of bravery awardees from paramilitary forces will be given preferences for admission in four of its higher educational institutions.

The facility which will be available from this session, was earlier limited to wards of military forces.

"Delhi government will give preference to wards of paramilitary forces personnel who have been awarded with bravery awards. The provision will be available from current sources. Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Education Manish Sisodia has given an approval for the same," an official statement said today.

The students will get preferences in admission to Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology (NSIT), Delhi Technological University (DTU), Indraprastha Institute of Information and Technology (IIIT) and Indira Gandhi Institute of Information and Technology.

"Paramilitary forces personnel and its officers work in extreme conditions to ensure security of the country. They fulfill their duty towards the country by risking their lives in naxal affected areas. This is a step to acknowledge their contribution," Sisodia said.
