A special committee formed by the Delhi Lt Governor is likely to recommend setting Rs 13,330 as the minimum wages for an unskilled person in the city.

However, the committee has submitted its report on the revision of minimum wages to Delhi government, but its recommendations for semi-skilled and skilled labourers are yet to come out.

At present, the minimum wages for unskilled labour in Delhi currently stands at Rs 9,568 per month, Rs 10,582 for semi-skilled and Rs 11,622 for skilled labour.

"The committee has recommended to increase the minimum wages for unskilled person from the existing Rs 9,568 to Rs 13,330," said a senior government official.

Yesterday, Labour Minister Gopal Rai had said that the new recommendations would be tabled in the next meeting of Delhi Cabinet and subsequently, it would be sent to Lt Governor for his approval.
