Muslims in Tamil Nadu today celebrated Bakrid with usual fervour.
Scores of faithfuls thronged mosques in different parts of the state to celebrate the festival of sacrifice while special prayers were held in different districts including Chennai, Coimbatore and Tirunelveli.
Muslims greeted each other and exchanged pleasantries. Many of them had arranged for 'qurbani', where meals are shared with the poor and the needy.
Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and DMK President M Karunanidhi among others had extended their Bakrid greetings.
