A Special Sub-Inspector was today arrested here for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 for issuing a FIR receipt, to a person who had lost his driving licence.
Police said Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-corruption arrested SSI Vellathurai of Kalakadu after setting a trap on a complaint from M David.
David alleged that the SSI was demanding exorbitant amount for issuing the FIR copy.
DVAC Police asked him to give chemically treated currency notes to the SSI.
The SSI has been remanded to judicial custody, police said.
