The train carrying 1264 passengers was seen off at the Guwahati railway station by Assam Forest Minister Rockybul Hussain at 1.15 pm, official sources said.

The train with more than 16 coaches operated by the Northeast Frontier Railway was scheduled to halt at Rangia, Barpeta Road, New Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar stations in Assam, the sources said.

The Assam Government has provided free tickets to facilitate the return of these people after they registered their names with the concerned Deputy Commissioners of their respective districts, the sources said.

Earlier two special trains taking passengers back to Bangalore from Guwahati had left on September 1 and 8.
