Maharashtra government has decided to pay special vehicle allowance to 2,708 of its speech disabled employees, Finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said here today.
"The Centre, following a decision of the Supreme Court of 2013, had decided to, by an order of Ministry of Finance, pay a special vehicle allowance to the speech disabled employees. Since then, these employees were requesting the state government to adopt the Centre's decision and pay them the special vehicle allowance," Mungantiwar said.
"We have thus decided to pay special vehicle allowance to speech disabled employees of the state government," he said.
