The incident occurred last night when the driver of the petrol tanker, who was fleeing after running over two persons, rammed into a house and the vehicle overturned near Mahakhera village killing six others on the spot, police said today.
Agitated over the incident, locals beat the driver and the cleaner of the tanker to death, they said.
