Spice prices remain steady in thin trade

Steady conditions prevailed at the wholesale kirana market in the national capital today with prices settling around previous levels after moving in a narrow range in scattered deals.

Traders said adequate stocks position against limited deals mainly kept prices steady.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs):

Ajwain (per kg) 150-190, black pepper (per kg) 715-910, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,460-1,470 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,550-1,900.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 560-690, cardamom (colour robin) 570-580, cardamom bold 590-600, cardamom extra (bold) 670-680 and cloves 550-670.
