Sports stars Sourav Ganguly, Jhulan Goswami, Mithali Raj, Leander Paes and Virat Kohli, along with legends Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri, will come together in November to raise funds for underprivileged children battling cancer at the Tata Medical Center here.

The state-of-the-art cancer care centre will host 'Legends for Hope' on November 18 in association with Calcutta Cricket and Football Club (CC&FC), a statement said here today.

"The completion of the much-needed expansion of the hospital will bring hope to so many in their battle against cancer. We urge supporters to join us in our efforts to lend a compassionate hand to underprivileged people suffering from this disease," Tata Medical director (donor relations) Geeta Gopalakrishnan said.

A musical evening would also be organized on this occasion and cricket icons C.D. Gopinath and Madhav Apte are expected to attend the programme, the statement said.

"In celebrating 225 years of cricket in India, we as a club, are proud to be associated with Tata Medical Center. Being a cancer survivor myself, I cannot thank Tata Medical Center enough for all the efforts they make towards providing care and treatment to cancer patients," CC&FC president and former cricketer Arun Lal said.
