Bhaskar Patil, who is posted as physical instructor with the Government Girls Higher Secondary School at Saigaon, was apprehended for raping an 11th class scheduled caste girl for over two years on promise of marrying her, DSP (SC/ST police station) V L Akole said.
According to a police complaint filed by the victim's father, Patil maintained physical relations with the girl for the last two years promising marriage.
Patil allegedly used to take the girl out of the village under the pretext of tournaments and would sexually assault her, Akole said.
