Cardamom prices moved up by 0.89 per cent to Rs 722.40 per kg in futures market today as participants indulged in creating fresh positions, driven by uptick in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May month traded higher by Rs 6.40, or 0.89 per cent to Rs 722.40 per kg in business turn rover of 149 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by traders due to pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from growing regions, mainly helped cardamom prices to trade higher at futures trade.
