Supported by rising demand at the spot market, chana prices rallied by 1.83 per cent to Rs 4,291 per quintal in futures trade today.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July was trading higher by Rs 77, or 1.83 per cent to Rs 4,291 per quintal with an open interest of 56,190 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in August contracts rose Rs 77, or 1.79 per cent to Rs 4,382 per quintal in 1,72,450 lots.
Market analysts said apart from rising demand at the spot market, restricted supplies from producing regions pushed up chana prices in futures trade.
