Copper prices moved up by 0.13 per cent to Rs 373.25 per kg in evening session at futures trade today as speculators raised their bets amid pick up in demand in the spot market.

The exchange remained closed in the morning session for 'Maharashtra Day'.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June was up marginally by 50 paise, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 373.25 per kg, in a business turnover of 1,633 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month August edged up by 35 paise, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 377 per kg in 23 lots.

Market analysts said widening of positions by traders following uptick in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly influenced copper prices at futures trade.
