Crude palm oil prices edged up by 0.36 per cent to Rs 578.70 per 10 kg in futures trading today as traders built up fresh positions following uptick in demand at the domestic spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in February rose by Rs 2.10, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 578.70 per 10 kg, in a business turnover of 105 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in January traded higher by Rs 1.60, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 585.10 per 10 kg in 185 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by participants due to pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to the rise in crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
