Spot demand lifts lead futures by 0.11 pc

Lead prices traded higher by 0.11 per cent to Rs 130.90 per kg in futures trade today as participants indulged in creating fresh positions due to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market .

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in October edged up by 15 paise, or 0.11 per cent to Rs 130.90 per kg in a business turnover of 16 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in September traded higher by 10 paise, or 0.08 per cent to Rs 130.40 per kg in 403 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in lead futures to fresh positions built up by traders after pick-up in demand from battery-makers in the spot market.
