Mentha oil prices rose by 2.16 per cent to Rs 1,096.80 per kg in futures trade today as traders engaged in creating positions amid strong demand at spot market from consuming industries.
Besides, restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in July were up by Rs 23.20, or 2.16 per cent, to Rs 1,096.80 per kg, with a trading volume of 2,266 lots.
Mentha oil for delivery in June also gained Rs 22.80, or 2.15 per cent, to Rs 1,073.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,765 lots.
Marketmen said besides firm local and export demand at the spot market, restricted arrivals from growing regions, influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
