Mentha oil prices edged up by 0.13 per cent to Rs 933.40 per kg in futures market today as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November month edged higher by Rs 1.20, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 933.40 per kg in business turnover of 232 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in December contracts traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 945.50 per kg in 81 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators after pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
