Mentha oil prices edged up by 0.63 per cent to Rs 961.10 per kg in futures trading today amid pick-up in demand at domestic spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August went up by Rs 6, or 0.63 per cent, to Rs 961.10 per kg in a business turnover of 28 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in July was trading higher by Rs 5.60, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 949 per kg in 432 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions built up by traders following pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi, led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
