Spot demand lifts refined soya oil futures by 0.53 pc

Refined soya oil prices traded higher by 0.53 per cent to Rs 645.70 per 10 kg in futures trade today amid pick-up in demand at domestic spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in far-month August rose by Rs 3.40, or 0.53 per cent to Rs 645.70 per 10 kg with an open interest of 97,190 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in July edged up by Rs 1.40, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 644.90 per 10 kg in 78,220 lots.

Marketmen said building of positions by particpants due to pick up in demand in the spot market against tight stocks position on restricted supplies from growing regions mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
