Zinc futures traded higher by 0.30 per cent to Rs 118.20 per kg today as traders enlarged positions following uptick in demand in the spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in May traded higher by 35 paise, or 0.30 per cent to Rs 118.20 per kg in a business turnover of 87 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in April edged up by 25 paise, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 117.45 per kg in 3,560 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in zinc futures to a firm trend at spot market on pick up in demand from consuming industries.
