Zinc prices edged higher by 0.52 per cent to Rs 182.15 per kg in futures market today as traders enlarged positions following pick up in demand in the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in March went up by 95 paise, or 0.52 per cent to Rs 182.15 per kg in business turnover of 506 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in April contracts traded higher by 90 paise, or 0.50 per cent to Rs 182.60 per kg in 10 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in zinc futures to widening of positions by traders, supported by rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
