A youth shot himself to death after being allegedly spurned by his lover at Madhyamgram in North 24-Parganas district today, the police said.
Pallab Pal(36), a resident of Baguiati in the same district, shot at himself by a pistol he was carrying at Vivek Nagar at Madhyamgram where he came to meet her lover, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Tarun Haldar said.
The profusely bleeding youth was taken to a hospital at Barasat, where he was declared "brought dead".
A suicide note found on Pal said that he was rejected by the girl, the ASP said.
