Spurned, a youth allegedly slit the throat of a 14-year-old girl with whom he was in love here today, police said.
The 21-year-old accused was taken into custody and a case of attempt to murder has been registered against him.
The condition of the girl, admitted to a private hospital, is stated to "critical", police said.
