"What is the internal tussle in NDA or who is made its Prime Ministerial candidate concerns the alliance or JD(U). Whether Nitish Kumar will leave NDA or remain in that alliance is their matter. Congress has nothing to do with that. We do not want to break any party or alliance or interfere in its internal matters," party spokesman Rashid Alvi said.

He was responding to questions on the spat between the BJP and JD(U) on projecting Narendra Modi as NDA's possible prime ministerial candidate and whether Congress was attempting to break the NDA by weaning away JD(U).

At the same time, Alvi quipped that "it is a useless exercise going on in the NDA as who should be the PM candidate as UPA-III will come to power in general elections 2014".

He, however, steered clear of questions on whether Manmohan Singh will again be made the Prime Minister after the next Lok Sabha elections. "The MPs who get elected, decide who is their leader," Alvi said in reply to questions at the AICC briefing.
