Southern Railway (SR) has introduced a new SMS facility to inform people about the platform number of Chennai Central Railway Station from where a particular train would depart or arrive.
Passengers will be able to know the platform number on which their respective trains would arrive or depart by message on mobile as per the new system, a Southern Railway release said.
The information regarding train number and boarding station can be accessed by sending an SMS to 139 and also through NTES mobile application.
The facility available in Chennai Central Railway station would be expanded to other stations.
