Around 280 weightlifters, including international medal winners from across the country, will take part in eight weight categories among men and seven among women in the event, which will be held at the SRM University (NCR Campus).
Necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the event have been made and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will be the chief guest during the closing ceremony on January 10, Indian Weightlifting Federation Secretary General Sahdev Yadav said in a release.
Services were the overall champions among men and Manipur won the overall title among men in the last Senior Nationals, held at Berhampur in Odisha.
