Sri Rama Sene activists barge into school

Activists of right-wing outfit Sri Rama Sene today barged into St Thomas Aided Higher Primary School at Padu Bandanthila here, alleging that Urdu and Arabic were being 'forcibly' taught to students.

Based on a complaint by locals about 50 to 60activists barged into the school.

The activists alleged that students of VI and VII standards were "forced" to learn Urdu and Arabic every Saturday between 9.15 AM to 10 AM.

They questioned the management on this and also confronted the teacher who was taking Urdu andArabic classes.

Addressing reporters, zonal president of Sri Rama Sene Anand Shetty said they strongly opposed the "forcible" teaching of Urdu and Arabic in the school.
 

If the school management wanted to teach Urdu and Arabic, let them also teach Bhagavad Gita and the Vedas, he said.
