Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was hopeful of bringing anti-talk Ulfa(I) commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah on the discussion table with the Centre without "sovereignty" of Assam as a precondition.

"I am persuading him (Baruah) for talks and I am optimistic for a positive outcome," Ravi Shankar said on the sidelines of a discourse at the BCCI here.

The Art of Living founder, who has been attempting to broker peace with the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent chief, said he had talks with Baruah earlier this week.
