Srinagar, May 1 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir unit of CPI (M) today stressed on the need for unity among the working people for resisting the "anti-working class policies" of the government.

Jammu and Kashmir unit of CPI (M) today stressed on the need for unity among the working people for resisting the "anti-working class policies" of the government.

"There is no room for any illusion and only united struggles of the toilers can force the government and employers to concede the genuine demands of the working people," state secretary CPI(M) M Y Tarigami said addressing a rally in connection with International Labour Day here.

The rally was organised by Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) and was attended by various trade unions and employees associations.

Tarigami, who is also the state president of CITU, said "the woes of labourers, who are engineers of economic prosperity, are on the increase."
 

Addressing the rally, president of All India Federation of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers and CITU Secretary K Hemlata warned against the dangers of the divisive forces, who seek to divide the working class on caste, religion, regional lines.
