Srinath takes additional charge as DG of CERT-In

B J Srinath has taken additional charge as Director General of the government's cyber security arm, Computer Emergency Response Team-India (CERT-In).

Srinath, will also continue to serve his duties as G-level scientist, but he is also empowered to take all decisions of Director General (DG).

"I assumed the additional charge as DG on April 1," Srinath told PTI.

Gulshan Rai, the former DG of CERT-In has joined the Prime Minister's Office as national cyber security coordinator.

CERT-In, which has been operational since January 2004, is the nodal agency for responding to computer security incidents.
